in Detroit Michigan Subject: The Body of Christ Message One: The Reality of the Body of Christ I. The Body is the church with the divine life as its substance and realm A. It is seen through the full knowledge of Christ by a spirit of wisdom and revelation. Eph. 1:17 B. It is participated in through the economy of God by being one with the saints as God's inheritance. Eph. 1:18 C. It is lived out according to the operation of the might of His strength in the surpassing greatness of His power. Eph. 1:19 D. It is realized through the Headship of Christ in His resurrection. Eph. 1:22 II. The aspects of the Body through the attainments of Christ A. The Body, the church, was produced through the death of the physical body of Christ, to make peace, having slain the enmity. Eph. 2:15-16 B. The Body, the church, is the new man created with Christ as his life, element and person to accomplish God's eternal purpose. Eph. 2:15 C. The Body is the kingdom of God constituted with all the saints as the fellow citizens and no one should be strangers and sojourners. Eph. 2:19 D. The Body is the household of God where God and all the saints can find a mutual abode. Eph. 2:19 E. The Body is the temple of God being built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ as the unique cornerstone. Eph. 2:20-21 F. When the Body is being built, the church becomes the dwelling place of God. Eph. 2:22 III. Practicing the living of Body life A. The prisoners of Christ Jesus have received the stewardship concerning the saints. Eph. 3:1-2 B. They know the mystery of Christ. Eph. 3:3 C. They announce the unsearchable riches of Christ as the gospel. Eph. 3:8 D. They labor for the saints to be strengthened with power through His Spirit into the inner man, according to the riches of His glory. Eph. 3:16 |
