| Preface
Have you ever considered all that has been given to us as children of God? Parents know how to give good gifts to their children, and much more does our heavenly Father give good things to His (Matt. 7:11)! This issue of the Fellowship Journal brings us to consider some of the spiritual blessings that God has richly given to us in Christ. In the opening article, the second message of the "Born Again" series, we see how all-encompassing is the gift of eternal life. In contrast with the temporary, sinful, and frail human life, God's gift of divine life is eternal, incorruptible, and indestructible. Having received this gift of life, we now have a new spirit and a new heart and are inwardly guided into all reality. This new life continually teaches us to remain with the Lord. What a new life! God has also given us the treasure of His word. "How to Study the Bible" encourages us to come to the Bible in simplicity and to take the Bible without being selective in order to hear the Lord's speaking. We are also presented with a proper way to begin to know the Bible, by learning the facts that lead us into inspiration, truth, and light. "Knowing the Divine Life" is an article that helps us to appreciate and more fully apprehend the new life that is ours in Christ. We learn how to cooperate with the sense, nature, and operation of this divine life to become healthy and purposeful as we grow unto maturity. In the series covering "The Experience in Philippians," we see something of the Lord's inward provision of grace and peace to us for our enjoyment and satisfaction. In addition, we also realize God has given us His servants to help us grow and develop properly in our Christian life until the Lord comes back. Oneness is another blessing that we have as believers in the Lord. A selection of quotes and a word study on this matter help us to realize the preciousness of this gift. We hope this issue of the Fellowship Journal will cause us all to rejoice in our rich inheritance in Christ and be filled with gratefulness to our heavenly Father for His rich gifts to us. |
