Testimonies & Letters

Testimonies
The following testimonies are from saints who have decided to take time off from work or school in order to labor before the Lord to be equipped in life and in the word for their serving in the church life.

I feel happy and blessed to be laboring in Chicago this year. The Lord led me to be here this year, and thankfully my new wife supported my leading. There are no words to describe how real the Lord can be when you follow Him. I'm so grateful to my family, the saints, and the Lord for this opportunity.
B. S., Chicago, Illinois

I wanted to give this time to the Lord, so that I could gain a solid base in the word and further my pursuit of Him. I also want to be constituted and equipped to be used by the Lord in a fuller way to reach all of the people that the Lord puts in my life.
J. S., Chicago, Illinois

This is my second year of laboring in Columbus. Since I am not married, it has just been a lot of fun to give one hundred percent of my time. By not presently having a job, and not having to worry about anything else, I am able to serve the Lord with every minute of my time, investing everything I have.
J. F., Columbus, Ohio

During my last three years of college I labored on campus as much as I could, having Bible studies, planning young people's meetings, praying for new ones, preaching the gospel, etc. I did what I could, but felt very limited with time and a lack of the knowledge of the word. During my senior year I felt the Lord's leading to take some time off after graduation to be constituted in the word and to be trained. After many conversations and dealings with the Lord, I made a decision to labor in Chicago, and I have no regrets.

I grew up in Christianity. During that time, I did many things that you might call 'good works.' I spent summers at work camps, served in homeless shelters, and many other things. However, it later occurred to me that during that time I never really knew God personally. I never really knew what was on God's heart. So now, during this period of time, I am looking to form a closer, more personal relationship with the Lord.
J. B., Columbus, Ohio

I have given this year to be trained because I felt from the Lord to do so. I followed His speaking within me, and today I have no regrets.
J. A., Columbus, Ohio

I am laboring in Chicago because of God's sovereign hand. I didn't intend to take time off from work, but through the Lord's arrangement I am able to. Initially I didn't see myself coming much, but the more I participated, the more I wanted to. I have given the Lord every morning during the week to labor in the word and consider the Lord's speaking. I enjoy the time with the brothers and sisters, and I have my learning spirit exercised.

Christ was the man Jesus and still is, but this is not yet a reality to me in my experience. I gave this semester to get to know Him as a person and as a Friend who knows me better than anyone. He is the one I desire to know more than anyone. What better way than to talk to Him, listen to Him, and spend time with Him in His word!

Letters
Dear Brother Titus,
I just wanted to write you and thank you for all your care for the college students throughout the years. Thank you also for the personal care you have given me. I would not be serving right now if it were not for you, and I most likely would not be in the church life either. I thank the Lord every day for His mercy that I could love Him. May the Lord bless you and your family richly! First Kings 8:23, "And he said, Jehovah, God of Israel! There is no God like thee, in the heavens above, or on the earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart."
B. S., Chicago, Illinois

I am an inmate in prison in North Carolina awaiting trial, and I am a caller of Jesus Christ. After being moved to this facility, I was introduced to a fellow who has taught me much about the Lord's economy and recovery. I have been desperately desiring more literature (especially by Mr. Nee) and yesterday was given a copy of the Fellowship Journal (Vol. 2, No. 1). It is like an oasis in the desert! I was wondering if you could put me on your mailing list for the Journal. I am desiring to experience Christ more each day, and when I saw your magazine, I became very excited. May God continue to bless you.
J. R., North Carolina
