What Does it Mean to be "Born Again"? - At the moment we first believed in the Lord Jesus and received Him as our Savior, something wonderful happened to us. The Bible describes it by saying that we were "born again" (John 3:3). Many people use this term, and so many Christian teachers have spoken about this subject, yet very few of us understand how rich and wonderful it is to be born again.

We Have Received a New Life - The first marvelous thing that happened to us when we believed in Jesus Christ was that we received a new life. As human beings, all of us have a human life. But when we were born again, we received a new life. This new life we received is the life of God Himself. We will cover nine separate points concerning the new life that we have received.

We Have Received a New Position (1) - When we were born again we received a change in our position. By being born again we have been transferred from the kingdom of Satan to the kingdom of God (Col. 1:13). This means that our position has changed. In order to fully appreciate our new position we will look at eight different aspects of the negative position we were in before we were born again.

We Have Received a New Position (2) - When we were born again, we received an entirely new position. We should not underestimate the significance of receiving a new position, because our position will determine what kind of living we will have. Now in our new position we can enjoy all the marvelous riches which God has prepared for us. In the next two messages we will cover thirty wonderful aspects of our position after being born again. The first twenty aspects are covered here.

The last ten of the thirty aspects of our position after being born again are covered here.

We Have Received the Necessity of a New Living (1) - We were not born again so that we would have to struggle so hard. We were born again into a living of enjoyment. We can enjoy Christ as everything to us. He is the Lamb, He is our Friend, He is our older Brother, He is our Shepherd, He is the Builder, and He is the Bridegroom!

We Have Received the Necessity of a New Living (2) - Christ is not only a living person for us to enjoy, He is also the supply to meet our daily needs. In the Gospel of John we see that Christ is life to us. He is the bread of life, the water of life, the light of life, and the word of life. Then He is also grace, reality, satisfaction, freedom, the resurrection, and the true vine. The enjoyment of all these riches will supply us to meet all the needs in our daily life.

We Have Received the Necessity of a New Living (3) - We have seen that when we were born again we received the necessity of a new living. The first aspect, which we have covered, is the enjoyment of Christ. The second aspect of this new living is that it is for the Body of Christ and the practical church life. Now that we are in the Body of Christ, we should realize that the Lord requires something from us. We should love one another, keep the oneness, and feed and shepherd the lambs and the sheep.

A Life Full of the Divine Attributes (1) - Eternal life is the uncreated life. The eternal life is self-existing, ever-existing, unlimited life, and is filled with many divine attributes. This life is God Himself. We received this life at the time of our salvation. Then, after receiving this life, we have to lay hold on this eternal life.

A Life Full of the Divine Attributes (2) - It is one thing to talk about eternal life, but you cannot say eternal life is really yours until you have experienced the attributes of the eternal life. To touch the Lord, to enjoy the Lord, is to partake of all the attributes of the eternal life. Maturity comes about as a result of being constituted with these attributes.

A Life Full of the Divine Attributes (3) - In this message we will continue our fellowship on the divine attributes of the eternal life. The Bible describes God Himself in three ways: it tells us that God is Spirit; that He is love; and that He is light. In essence God is Spirit; in nature God is love; and in operation God is light. God being love and light are both substantiated by His being the Spirit.

A Life Full of the Divine Attributes (4) - When God operates, God comes in as light. The Old Testament pictures apply spiritually to our Christian life today. If you understand how God operates as light in these three matters - creation, calling, and administration - it is very likely you well grow properly. In the New Testament, God came through incarnation, and in Him was light, and this light was now the light of men.

Practicing to Live With the Present Christ - The conference outlines.

Printer friendly long version Printer friendly short version To Live with the Present Christ - To live with the present Christ is to have Christ as the normality of your Christian life. It is normal, as a Christian, to always have something fresh of Christ. In our experience, our Christ should always be getting better and better. For this we should all know Christ in the way He desires to be known: as the present Christ in His move and economy.

Printer friendly long version Printer friendly short version The Necessary Exercises to Obtain the Presence of the Present Christ Privately (1) Calling, Sighing & Mourning - If you want to have the present Christ, you must have His presence. If you want to have His presence, you need to have a certain kind of living. To be in spirit, we need to learn to practice to call, to sigh, and to mourn.

Printer friendly long version Printer friendly short version The Necessary Exercises to Obtain the Presence of the Present Christ Privately (2) Enjoying the Hymns - A good hymn should have inspirations that inspire you, experiences that enhance and confirm your experience of Christ, expressions that bring the reality to you in its most expressive form, and revelation and truth. Thus, a good hymn can help you to be brought into the very presence of the Lord.

Printer friendly long version Printer friendly short version Practicing To Live With a Present Christ by Coming to the Word - There are four basic ways to come to the Word. We should daily come to the Word for life by spending time to: Pray-read the Word, read-pray the Word, memorize the Word, read and study the Word.

Printer friendly long version Printer friendly short version The Necessary Exercises to Obtain the Presence of the Present Christ Privately (4) Prayer - We should learn to abide in the Lord's presence by speaking to Him in whatever condition or environment we find ourselves. In doing so, we should simply speak to the Lord in the most common, genuine expressions.

Printer friendly long version Printer friendly short version Obtaining the Present Christ with His Presence Corporately (1) Review - There are two clear situations in which the Lord promises that He will give us His presence. The first is as we disciple the nations by preaching the gospel. The second is as we gather into the Lord's name.

Printer friendly long version Printer friendly short version Obtaining the Present Christ with His Presence Corporately (2) Being in the Meetings to Obtain the Lord's Presence - In the church life there are basically three kinds of meetings: the prayer meeting, the neighborhood or small group gatherings, and the Lord's Day meeting, during which time most churches have the Lord's table. Their are other kinds of meetings, but we will consider these three.
